Sanjeev Kumar Varshney is presently the Adviser & Head, International Cooperation at Ministry/Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India since 1990 facilitating international scientific cooperation of India from the Department of Science & Technology with its bilateral, multilateral and regional scientific partners

He is the Indian Co-Chair, Governing Body, Indo-German Science & Technology Centre(IGSTC), Member, Board of Directors of a private limited company, Global Innovation & Technology Alliance (GITA) and a Member in the Governing Councils of the: (1) US- India Education Foundation (USIEF), (2) International Advanced Research Centre of Powder Metallurgy (ARCI), and (3) Indo-US Science and Technology Endowment Fund (USISTEF). He is also the Indian Sherpa for Carnegie Group of Science & Technology Ministers, Indian Focal Point for BRICS Working Group on Science & Technology and OECD Committee on Science & Technology Policy. In addition, he is the Member, Board of Research Studies in Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

He has worked as Counsellor (S&T) with Embassy of India in Moscow to facilitate bilateral scientific cooperation between India and Russia during April 2008 - June 2011. He has been actively contributing to promotion of international scientific cooperation as well as scientific – industrial cooperation.

He completed M. Sc. (Geology) in 1984 from Aligarh Muslim University and was awarded University Medal for obtaining first position. He also pursued research at University of Delhi during 1985-1990 on Himalayan river systems, sedimentation, diagenetic and tectonic modifications. He qualified UGC NET in 1985 for Junior Research Fellowship and lectureship. He was also awarded Dr DN. Wadia Research Fellowship in 1986 for his research on Himalayan Geology.

He is Life Fellow of Geological Society of India, Bangalore; Nepal Geological Society, Kathmandu and member of International Association of Sedimentologists, Oxford. He also has numerous certifications to his credit. He also taught at Kurukshetra University in 1990.

Ms. Kathrin Meyer was born in Berlin. She completed her Diploma in "Science theory and Science organisation" in 1990 from the Humboldt-University in Berlin. Subsequently she joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Innovation and System Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe.

In October 1991 she took up a position in the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Within BMBF she has held several positions with a focus on innovation policy, including a deputation to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
